Pootharekulu is a recipe rice batter coupled with powdered sugar and ghee (clear butter). A warm pot is made to be ready to create the edible sheet. Pot is alternatively heated and washed for three days with a cloth dipped in oil to smooth the surface to make sweets.
Coarse rice is ground for almost two hours and made into the batter to create the paper sheet. This is then diluted, a thin cloth is plunged into the solution and placed under it on the inverted pot. The edible film immediately forms on the pot. The edible film is then wrapped in sugar/jaggery and ghee-coated.
